After opening a successful chain of clinics in Malaysia, Dr Ti Lian Geh decided to extend his medical service internationally to expat patients from around the world as well as to local Cambodian patients in Phnom Penh. Due to the enormous patient satisfaction with his work, he received social media accolades. As health literacy in Cambodia was deficient, his health education proved useful. He wrote for the Khmer Times weekly. His book “The Art and Science of Healthy Living”, was published in Phnom Penh and will soon be published in Malaysia.

He’s now known as the most outstanding family physician in Phnom Penh. Back home in Penang, the founder of H Healthcare Berhad, Bipul Nazir, spotted his capabilities and invited him, with the full support of the board, to be the chairman of his brainchild company, H Healthcare.

Dr Ti, now at retirement age, still diligently improves his skills and takes the lead in areas of his passion: cost containment, value care, patient safety, and the fundamental causes of certain diseases, namely food addiction and adverse lifestyles. His dedication was noticed by the Harvard Medical School where he was successfully enrolled into its ‘ Leadership in Medicine’ programme with a scholarship award.

“I am indeed very passionate about my work and responsibility as a family physician. There shall be no retirement for me but “re-tie-ment” – taking out the ‘r’ means no retreating from my responsibility to the people and nation. This award is not all for me. I could not get it without the support of my team, especially my mentor Mr Md Bipul Nazir who provided me the platform to excel. Thank you to all who have contributed towards this achievement.”
